Biography
Chiho Aoshima, born in 1974 in Tokyo, Japan, is a contemporary artist known for her vibrant digital art that bridges traditional Japanese folklore with modern pop culture aesthetics. Despite holding a degree in economics from Hosei University, Aoshima is largely self-taught in art, mastering Adobe Illustrator to create her distinctive style.
Her works often feature surreal landscapes populated by youthful spirits, ghosts, and fantastical elements of nature. She employs various mediums, including large-scale digital prints, animations, sculptures, and murals. Notable projects include her "City Glow" series, displayed in London's Gloucester Road tube station and New York's 14th Street–Union Square subway station.
Aoshima’s art has been exhibited internationally and is included in prestigious collections such as the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago and the Seattle Art Museum.
