NADA: New Art Dealers Alliance

The New Art Dealers Alliance (NADA) has emerged as a vital force within the contemporary art scene, revolutionizing the way emerging artists are promoted and supported. Founded in 2002, NADA has grown into a prominent organization that champions innovative art and fosters a sense of community among art dealers, collectors, and artists alike. NADA was conceived by Sheri Pasquarella, Heather Hubbs, and Laura Mitterrand, who recognized the need for a platform that focused on nurturing emerging artists and promoting their work. In 2002, the organization was established in New York City with the goal of providing an alternative to the traditional gallery system. By fostering collaboration, sharing resources, and offering support to emerging artists, NADA sought to challenge the dominance of established galleries and create a more inclusive art world.

In 2003, NADA launched its first art fair, setting the stage for a dynamic new approach to art fairs. The inaugural fair took place in a small hotel in Miami, coinciding with the prestigious Art Basel Miami Beach. This strategic timing allowed NADA to attract a significant audience of collectors, curators, and art enthusiasts who were already in the city for the larger event. Participating galleries over the years have included notable names such as Gavin Brown's enterprise, High Art, James Fuentes, Rachel Uffner Gallery, Night Gallery, and Chapter NY, among others.

Following the success of its first art fair, NADA quickly gained recognition and expanded its influence. In subsequent years, the organization began to host additional fairs in different locations, including New York, Cologne, and Chicago. These fairs attracted galleries such as Canada, JTT, 47 Canal, P.P.O.W, and Derek Eller Gallery, among many others. The art fairs became known for their energetic and innovative atmosphere, providing a vibrant platform for emerging artists and galleries to connect with collectors and curators from around the world.

Beyond its art fairs, NADA has developed into a multifaceted organization dedicated to supporting emerging artists and art professionals. It offers a range of resources and initiatives, including educational programs, mentorship opportunities, and grants. NADA's educational initiatives aim to empower artists and educate the public about contemporary art, while its mentorship programs provide guidance and support to emerging art professionals navigating the complex art world.
