Biography

FAILE is a Brooklyn-based artistic collaboration between Patrick McNeil (born 1975 in Edmonton, Alberta) and Patrick Miller (born 1976 in Minneapolis, Minnesota). Established in 1999, FAILE is renowned for its multimedia approach that blends painting, printmaking, stenciling, and installation art. Their work often explores themes of duality and consumer culture through a fragmented style of appropriation and collage, incorporating elements from pop culture, comic books, and advertising.

Their notable projects include the "Deluxx Fluxx" interactive installations and the "Temple" project in Portugal, which showcased their versatility across different mediums. FAILE's art has been exhibited in prestigious institutions such as the Tate Modern in London, the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Strasbourg, and the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts in New York. Their works are also part of numerous private collections, reflecting their significant impact on the contemporary art scene.

The duo has collaborated with various artists and participated in numerous solo exhibitions worldwide, including "City Lights" at the Millennium Iconoclast Museum of Art in Belgium (2021) and "From the Air We Share" at the Musée d'Art Moderne et Contemporain in Strasbourg, France (2019). FAILE's artworks are actively traded in the art market, indicating a strong and liquid presence.
