Had a very cool experience meeting the artist himself yesterday at Seventeen Gallery over LGW. It was fascinating to hear more about his practice - how he melts ideas of design, animation, pop culture. And then how they take shape as he revisits the works and ideas repeatedly to arrive at the final piece.

Found this exhibition through the latest gallery guide, heading to Victoria Miro Gallery. In a series exploring the complex relationship between a mother and daughter started some three decades ago, Chantal Joffe brings to life many questions about family, relationships, and the passage of time.
I find the portraits melancholic, and powerful. They appear to be candid and private moments, yet anyway succeed in feeling universally applicable.
