I bet not many of your heard about Vojtech Kovarik
! He is an emerging artist from the Czech Republic that is one the radar of many collectors. There is something about his style that captivates your attention. I hope he will have a show in the UK soon!

Interesting, I browsed a bit of his works online and seems he's still searching for his distinctive trait. I noticed he has two quite distinct way to refigure characters, I wonder if they can coexist in the long run or he will decide to explore one or the other (or maybe both in different time). BTW he works on huge formats! Doesn't seem to be for any wall... Do you know if he does also smaller canvases?
Cheers

Ah! I been a bit obsessed with Fredrik Åkum ( Swedish artist I think). He creates this woody like textures in earthy tone paintings and I think it is just mesmerising! I would love to collect it sometime soon. I don't really care if he is a good investment. Just really love the art !

So good! What is the technique he uses? I would almost think that sometimes he uses his fingers to spread the paint

Violeta Sofia is an emerging artist who is successful on putting across relevant issues in out society such as use of resources, depletion of African sources, BLM, confronting origins, etc.
The picture of her work in this post is IMMIGRANT QUEEN

Ryol: atm this is the artist I have on my radar. He is Indonesian, still working there. Having a decent momentum. I like the references of pop culture, childish themes and social commentary (especially in his bigger formats). These are sketches on A4, he told me he's exploring the crayons hence these lil works. Hope I can get the chance to buy one of his works soon

I would be curious to get your feeling about http://www.ericbasstein.com/

Hi philippehugot , I saw a couple of his works at Stolen Space on Brick Lane here in London a few months ago. I think he is a cleaver guy, putting some decent research in his art. As Tania said, he plays with old masters but the way I see it is that he uses old master narrative and pop culture iconography as a way to make a perceptive short circuit that builds a contemporary social commentary. I think he has also some influence from African contemporary culture, especially in the colours and in some charatisation.
Which piece have you got? BTW, congratulation for the acquisition.
Cheers!
Ps: It also reminds me a bit of Connor Harrington, are you familiar with him?

Thanks for your input. I got a small one, which you can see in my collection here, Portrait of Charles Mingus

Thanks, I know of CH, but not very familiar with his work. I got a small piece "portrait of Charles Mingus" which you can see here in my collection.

Hi philippehugot I quite like this Eric Basstein. What is the pricing of his works? Do you know which gallery represent him?
Cheers!

Sandro Kopp - the artist that created the paintings seen on The French Dispatch by Wes Anderson. Has anyone watched the movie? 😍 First, I am in love with the artist story - my favourite! Secondly, how good are Sandro Kopp's paintings?!
You can currently see these paintings IRL at 180 The Strand, in London.

I have been increasingly fascinated with textile artists and more so with Trish Andersen's work

wmart he’s very interesting. There is quite a bit of research behind this guy. The poses of the characters recalls classical paintings, the colours and the details are outside the western characterisation/stereotypes of the African art. And also seems less obviously political. Do you know the price point?
