INKMAN, a contemporary calligraphy artist hailing from Tunisia, was born in 1990. His artistic journey began at the Higher School of Design Sciences and Technologies in Tunis, where he discovered the world of graphics and typography. This discovery ignited his passion for exploring the artistic expressions that could emerge from typography, a passion he seamlessly blended with his love for poetry, which he had been composing since a young age.

The walls of Tunis, the capital city, served as INKMAN’s initial canvas for his groundbreaking “calligraffiti” works. This innovative fusion combined the vibrant energy of street art with the refined aesthetic tradition of Arab calligraphy, transforming writing into abstract art with a geometry that reached sublime heights.

Through his open-air creations, INKMAN not only magnified the architectural beauty of his chosen canvases but also unearthed the concealed histories and the diverse civilizations that had left their mark on the streets over centuries. INKMAN’s artistic versatility is showcased as he effortlessly transitions from walls to canvas, adorning Latin characters with intricate arabesques. His poems, brimming with messages of tolerance, grace the world in English or French, rendered in the captivating form of Arabic calligraphy.

With Mediterranean influences at its core and deeply rooted cultural origins, INKMAN crafts a universal visual language that transcends boundaries, inviting viewers to experience a symphony of emotions, much like the enchantment of perfume. Beyond murals and paintings, sculpture enriches his works, drawing inspiration from the gentlest of touches, human emotions, and the environment, taking audiences on a multi-dimensional artistic journey.

INKMAN has collaborated with brands such as Kartell, LVMH and Guerlain.
