Biography

Annie Morris (born 1978, London, UK) is a British sculptor and draughtswoman who lives and works in London. She studied at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris, the Slade School of Fine Art, and the Royal Academy Schools in London. Morris is best known for her distinctive “Stack” sculptures, vertical totem-like forms composed of irregular spheres piled precariously atop one another. These works are typically cast in bronze and coated with vivid pigment, exploring themes of balance, fragility, colour, and the tension between monumentality and vulnerability. Alongside sculpture, Morris produces drawings, tapestries, and textile works that share her interest in repetition, colour, and organic form. Her works are held in notable collections including Tate, London, and several international museum and private collections. Morris has received significant institutional attention and exhibitions across Europe and the United States, and her sculptures are widely exhibited at major galleries and art fairs. Within the contemporary sculpture market, her work is well recognised and actively traded, with a steadily strengthening secondary market and growing institutional demand.
