Biography
D*Face, born Dean Stockton in 1978 in London, is a prominent British street artist known for his vibrant and subversive pop art-inspired creations. He developed an early interest in graffiti, skateboarding, and punk culture, which significantly influenced his artistic style. DFace employs various mediums, including spray paint, stickers, posters, and stencils, to produce works that critique consumerism and materialism. His art often features dysfunctional characters reminiscent of comic strips, drawing inspiration from artists like Roy Lichtenstein and Andy Warhol.
Throughout his career, D*Face has exhibited internationally, with notable solo shows such as "Death & Glory" at London's StolenSpace Gallery in 2006 and "Going Nowhere Fast" at Los Angeles' Corey Helford Gallery in 2011. His murals adorn cities worldwide, including London, Paris, Madrid, Miami, and Tokyo. In addition to his street art, he has collaborated on commercial projects, creating album covers for Christina Aguilera's "Bionic" in 2010 and Blink-182's "California" in 2016.
D*Face's artworks are held in various notable art institutions and private collections, reflecting his significant impact on contemporary urban art.
