Biography

Eliot Greenwald, born in 1983 in Portland, Maine, is a contemporary American artist currently living and working in the Catskill Mountains of New York. He is best known for his vibrant, otherworldly paintings and sculptures that blend science fiction aesthetics with Americana, often featuring recurring motifs such as cars, moons, and desert landscapes. Greenwald primarily works with oil stick on panel, creating dreamlike, surreal scenes that merge pop culture imagery with a psychedelic sensibility. His work explores themes of time travel, isolation, and utopian fantasies, rendered through a distinctly cartoonish and saturated colour palette.

Greenwald’s art has been exhibited internationally and is held in a number of private collections, and he is increasingly recognised by collectors and galleries for his distinctive visual language. Though not yet collected by major public institutions or the recipient of major awards, his market presence is growing, with his works appearing in prominent contemporary art fairs and gallery exhibitions, particularly in New York and Los Angeles. His market is considered relatively liquid among younger collectors, with frequent secondary market activity indicating rising demand.
