Jadé Fadojutimi
Biography
Jadé Fadojutimi (b. 1993, London) is a British artist who lives and works in London. She is best known for large-scale abstract paintings that combine oil, acrylic and pastel into vivid, layered fields of colour, gesture and texture. Her works explore identity, memory, emotion and the instability of the self, often drawing on music, anime, fashion, Japanese visual culture and personal experience. Fadojutimi has achieved significant institutional recognition at an early stage, with works held by major collections including Tate, the Baltimore Museum of Art and the Institute of Contemporary Art, Miami. She became the youngest artist to have a work acquired by Tate’s permanent collection. Her market is highly prominent and internationally followed, with strong gallery demand and regular auction activity, though, as with many young contemporary artists, liquidity is active but still relatively concentrated and sensitive to supply.
