Biography
Javier Calleja, born in 1971 in Málaga, Spain, is a prominent contemporary artist known for his distinctive style featuring cartoonish, doe-eyed characters with exaggerated features. Influenced by the toys and comics of his 1970s and 1980s upbringing, Calleja's work often combines playful, innocent imagery with deeper, more poignant themes.
Calleja studied Fine Arts at the University of Granada and has since built a successful career, exhibiting his work internationally. He has held solo exhibitions at notable galleries such as Almine Rech in Shanghai and Paris, Dio Horia in Mykonos, and Bill Brady Gallery in Miami.
