Pol Taburet
Biography
Pol Taburet (b. 1997, Paris) is a French artist of Guadeloupean heritage who lives and works in Paris. Working chiefly in painting, he is known for hallucinatory, psychologically charged figurative works that blend distorted bodies, spectral faces, Creole folklore, nightlife, violence and spiritual symbolism. His imagery often fuses cartoonish exaggeration with darker references to possession, ritual and social tension, creating a distinctive visual language between fantasy and unease. Taburet has gained rapid institutional and commercial recognition, with works entering notable collections and being presented by prominent galleries including Mendes Wood DM and Balice Hertling. While still early in his career, his market has become highly visible, with strong demand at auction and among collectors; however, as a young artist’s market, liquidity remains developing rather than fully mature.
