Gaia, born Andrew Pisacane in 1988 in New York City, is a prominent American street artist currently based in Baltimore, Maryland. He graduated from the Maryland Institute College of Art in 2011. His moniker, 'Gaia,' is derived from the Greek goddess of the Earth, reflecting his early focus on integrating natural elements into urban settings.
Gaia's work is distinguished by large-scale murals that delve into themes of urban development, gentrification, and the intricate relationship between humanity and the environment. His art often features detailed portraits of influential figures, animals, and symbolic imagery, utilizing mediums such as wheat-pasting and painting.
