Imon Boy
Biography
Imon Boy is a contemporary Spanish artist celebrated for blending the raw energy of graffiti with the playful charm of fine art. Born in Málaga in 1991, he began creating street art at the age of thirteen, developing a distinctive style characterized by vibrant colors, pop culture references, and a disarmingly humorous tone. His works draw from video games, internet culture, personal adventures, and everyday urban life, forming a self-referential narrative that feels both intimate and universal.
Maintaining his anonymity, Imon Boy challenges the traditional, macho image of graffiti artists by infusing his art with irony, tenderness, and humor. His visual storytelling often portrays encounters with the police, declarations of love, and reflections on the escapades of modern youth, functioning as an illustrated diary of both fantasy and reality.
Over the past decade, Imon Boy has successfully transitioned from the streets to the global gallery scene. His solo exhibitions include There Is Always a Plan B at Kolly Gallery in Zurich (2021), One Day More, One Day Less at Vertical Gallery in Chicago (2021), No Regrets at Thinkspace Projects in Los Angeles (2022), and We Have It All at AishoNanzuka Gallery in Hong Kong (2024). His works have been shown internationally in cities such as Munich, Seville, Hamburg, Sydney, Madrid, Los Angeles, and New York.
Through his fusion of street culture and contemporary art, Imon Boy continues to captivate audiences worldwide, creating vivid, relatable worlds that oscillate between innocence, rebellion, and humor.
