Szabolcs Bozó
Biography
Szabolcs Bozó (b. 1992, Pécs, Hungary) is a contemporary Hungarian artist currently living and working in London, UK. Bozó is best known for his exuberant, large-scale paintings and works on paper that feature cartoonish, childlike creatures rendered in vivid colours and thick, gestural brushstrokes. Working primarily in acrylic and oil pastel, his art embraces spontaneity and humour while subtly engaging with themes of identity, play, and the boundaries of high and low culture.
Since emerging on the international scene in the late 2010s, Bozó has garnered significant attention with solo exhibitions at prominent galleries such as Carl Kostyál (London and Stockholm), Almine Rech (Brussels), and Peres Projects (Berlin). His work is held in notable private collections and is increasingly being acquired by institutional collections. While he has not yet received major formal awards, Bozó is widely recognised within the international art market for his distinctive visual language. His market is strong, with frequent appearances at auction and high demand among collectors, positioning him as one of the most commercially successful young artists of his generation.
