The last few months of 2022 has been busy for the art world with end-of-year auctions, record-breaking lots and numerous art fairs around the world including Miami’s Art Week.

Each year Miami hosts the world’s leading art fairs and exhibitions. Thousands travel to sunny Florida to see significant artworks by masters of modern and contemporary art. The most popular destinations include Art Basel Miami, Untitled Art, Design Miami/, New Art Dealers Alliance (NADA), Scope and Art Miami. See below to discover why these fairs are so popular and which you should attend. 

 

Art Basel Miami

Art Basel Miami is one of the most renowned art fairs in the world where booths can sell out even before the opening. This year marked the fair’s 20th anniversary and included almost 300 leading galleries from five continents making it the largest edition to date. Art Basel not only showcases excellent art but hosts panels with collectors, dealers and experts which provide insider knowledge on all things art. Art Basel Miami is not an art fair to miss.

 

Untitled Miami

Known as the “manageable” art fair, if you’re feeling overwhelmed by Art Basel, Untitled Miami is the fair for you. Its smaller capacity results in high quality emerging artists you can view in an intimate setting. Located on the beach itself in a white tent, Untitled Miami attracts a fun and youthful crowd.

 

Design Miami/

If you like design this is the art fair for you. Design Miami/2022 brings together the best emerging and established designers around. 2022 celebrated the 18th edition of this fair with the theme The Golden Age: Looking to the Future which prompted new ways of experiencing hope for the future. Design Miami/ is not your traditional art fair, it’s futuristic and innovative with immersive rooms and engaging content.

 

NADA

New Art Dealers Alliance is a nonprofit arts organisation dedicated to supporting and advancing new contemporary art voices. The fair represents small and medium-size galleries and highlights emerging artists. Located in midtown Miami, NADA’s live music and lounge areas invites a relaxing atmosphere while you browse artwork, attend panels, workshops and live performances.

 

Scope

Scope presents artists who engage present day politics and societal issues. Innovative and experimental the fair has an international scope but commits to engaging the local communities. Scope offers more than just art with daily programs including morning wellness sessions, inclusive talks, afternoon workshops and sunset performances.

 

Art Miami

Celebrating its 32nd year, Art Miami is a must to attend. In more recent editions, the fair has championed new media like digital art and NFTs. Art Miami commits to supporting local museums and art institutions by donating funds. This year Art Miami featured artists dedicating part of the sales to Ukrainian charities. A ticket to Art Miami also grants access to the sister fair CONTEXT.
